Spring Independent School District serves much of the central and eastern portions, while Klein Independent School District covers western areas, including several of the master-planned communities, and Conroe Independent School District serves the northernmost reaches. Spring ISD enrolls roughly 33,000 students across about 43 campuses, and Klein ISD enrolls more than 52,000 students across about 53 campuses. Families frequently choose subdivisions based on their assigned district and feeder schools, and the community also offers a range of private and charter options. Nearby higher-education institutions include Lone Star College's North Harris and Montgomery campuses, giving residents access to community-college programs within a short drive.

Spring sits along the I-45 North Freeway, the primary artery connecting the community to downtown Houston about 25 miles to the south. The Grand Parkway (SH 99) crosses the area, providing east-west access across the northern suburbs, while the Hardy Toll Road offers a faster route toward Houston's core and George Bush Intercontinental Airport, which lies roughly 18 miles away. Beltway 8 and the Sam Houston Tollway extend the network to the south and west, and the ExxonMobil campus and Springwoods Village sit directly on the freeway spine. Commuting patterns center on the I-45 corridor and the north Houston employment hubs, with The Woodlands immediately to the west and the airport corridor to the east. Trails within master-planned communities — around lakes in Gleannloch Farms and along greenbelts elsewhere — provide day-to-day walking and biking routes, while community pools, sports fields, and golf courses such as Augusta Pines' 18-hole course anchor neighborhood recreation. The wider Spring Creek corridor and regional parks add natural areas within a short drive, and The Woodlands, immediately to the west, contributes additional shopping, dining, and outdoor options.
